SG1: Season 4
Episode 89: Justice for Hebron! (Exodus)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 22 "Exodus" and discuss how Stargate SG-1 is veering into a more pure sci-fi style, and Silvana is not a fan of it. Another thing the hosts are not a fan of - the Tok'ra. The Tok'ra train has derailed into an alternate dimension at this point. The Tok'ra know Tanith (using Hebron as a host) is a spy but the whole spy business it just handled in the most ridiculous and frankly awful way. The Tok'ra used the host Hebron in a very goa'uld way by just using him for their own ends. This is the episode where Samantha Carter blows up a sun, and what a waste to do that in this episode.

Episode 88: The Revenge of the Comtrayans (Double Jeopardy)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 21 "Double Jeopardy" and answer the question what does this have to do with the game show "Jeopardy"? This episode is Michael Shanks's directorial debut and features the actor who plays Lurch in the Addams Family. Harlan is back! He really does not understand what SG-1 does.

Episode 87: Their Love Can Be Seen From Space (Entity)
Silvana and Tegan are joined by their good friend and fellow podcaster, Sophia from Where's Beverly, for Season 4, Episode 20, "Entity". This is Sophia's favorite episode! She "must preserve!" Silvana dares Tegan to write the next fan fiction. Sophia explains why this is the best episode of Stargate. Sophia and Tegan discuss the medical inaccuracies in this episode, despite their onsite medical advisor. What would Stargate have looked like had Samantha Carter's body died and brought her back in a different body or used the robot Carter? Where have we seen that before...

Episode 86: There Can Only Be One Bill (Prodigy)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 19, "Prodigy" Cadet Hailey is introduced and we are told rather than shown that she is an insubordinate know-it-all and the powers that be want to throw her out of the academy. However, Sam wants to use her brain for good at the SGC so she brings her along to a mission to show her what she can use her intelligence for. SG-1 minus Daniel Jackson visit a moon (it's NOT a planet!) to supervise a team of scientists are studying....something? It's not really clear but they do encounter electricity bugs which the scientists immediately put into captivity which is always a good idea, right? Dr. Bill Lee is introduced in this episode and this is one scientist Silvana and Tegan actually like. Unfortunately for the other scientist named Bill in this episode, there can only be one one Bill. It's just the rules. Cadet Hailey and Major Carter have opposing opinions about what's happening with the electricity bugs. And Jack has to make the call and Cadet Hailey is adamant that she needs to know who was right, even at the very end of the episode.

Episode 85: A Snack of An Episode (The Light)
TW: Suicide/self-harm Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 18, "The Light". Once again, there is a strong need for a therapist on base, but there is not one! There's not even a trigger warning for this episode... SG-1 is challenged by a planet that has a narcotic effect on anyone that visits it. They meet a teenager named Loren and rescue him from this planet - to never be seen again. Silvana asks the most important question of this episode: Where are they defecating? is Teal'c an honorary Jehovah's Witness? Was there a Little Finger gao'uld equivalent?

Episode 84: The Tok'ra Never Learned Interior Design (Absolute Power)
Silvana and Tegan are joined by guest star, Eric, for Season 4, Episode 17 "Absolute Power". In this episode, the Harcesis Child arrives at the SG-C to make Daniel fall asleep and dream of an alternative reality. The three discuss the child actor chosen for the Harsesis Child. Tegan finds it weird that this is back to back with "2010", since neither results in much change in the overall storyline. Will absolute power corrupt Daniel Jackson? Absolutely. Episode 83: The Church of Nuance (2010)
Tegan and Silvana watch Season 4, Episode 16 "2010". This episode is one of Silvana's favorite episodes and takes place ten years in the future. The Stargate program has been revealed to the world when a highly advanced people called the Aschen offer to share their technology with Earth. Could they be why the Earth birth rate is dropping? Yes, of course it is. This episode has some excellent easter eggs, especially when the team visits the SG-C as a museum site. Tegan didn't enjoy this episode as much as Silvana, but what did you think? Is this one of the best episodes of Stargate SG-1?

Episode 82: MacGyver and His Boyfriend (Chain Reaction)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 15 "Chain Reaction," and are joined by guest star, Eric! This is a Maybourne and Jack episode and splits Jack from the rest of SG-1. The three discuss how Stargate is unique in how contemporary espionage plays into the storyline. Also isn't Kinsey the worst? Maybourne's apartment leaves much to be desired. It makes a Goa'uld froyo shop look like a great option for daily living. Is Teal'c an honorary Millennial?

Episode 81: You Can't Tell Me To Wear Pants! (Serpent's Venom)
Tegan and Silvana watch Season 4, Episode 14, "Serpent's Venom". Another torture episode reminiscent of Sokar's hell episodes. And this time Teal'c is even more specifically targeted. The ladies go off on a tangent about gender and sexual fluidity and how it really should have been more explored when it comes to Goa'uld and Tok'ra, probably because we hated this episode and wanted to talk about something else. The Tok'ra's philosophy and ethics are discussed and the inconstitency is glaring. The Tok'ra racism towards Jaffa is really showing and Tegan's love for the Tok'ra is seriously challenged in this episode....

Episode 79: Apollo 13 But Stargate (Tangent)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 12 "Tangent". The ladies speculate that this episode was a part of why Stargate got funding from the US Military as propaganda. This episode has Steven Williams, star of "21 Jump Street" as well, which makes Silvana excited. The rest of this episode is essentially Apollo 13 with Jack and Teal'c stuck in space and Stargate Command becomes Houston.

Episode 78: Does He Know How to Make Eggs? (Point of No Return)
Silvana and Tegan are joined by Eric for Season 4, Episode 11 "Point of No Return". All three are very excited that we have reached this epsidoe and the first episode with Martin Lloyd and Murray. This is one of the few episodes that takes place entirely on Earth. Teal'c has learned a lot about being an earthling; enough to go undercover as a short order cook! Teal'c also tries on his alternate persona: Murray. How would the NID get someone's eye perscription? How long have these aliens been on Earth? Are "Sex in the City" and "Stargate SG-1" the same universe?

Episode 77: Chekov's Planet (Scorched Earth)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 9 "Scorched Earth". The ladies love this episode and suggest it as a great one to start people on Stargate. The SG-1 team are helping a group of people settle a new planet, but another civilization has already started terraforming it! How will the team solve this one? Answer: with the Daniel Jackson we've all been waiting for! With a little conversation, Daniel is able to solve everyone's problems. How is this advanced civilization not one of the original four races? This is rather like Horizon Zero Dawn, from the perspective of the Gadmere. Maybe it is just because Silvana is an Agile Coach, but this episode provides a great example of agile culture vs command/control structure.

Episode 75: You'd Think It's Water (Watergate)
Silvana and Tegan Watch Season 4, Episode 7 "Watergate." Marina Sirtis is a major highlight of this episode and gives us one of our favorite scenes of the episode. Her russian accent isn't half bad either, at least according to the hosts. The writer's transplanted Jack's sense of humor to Daniel in this episode with mixed results. Making jokes at the expense of other cultures doesn't seem like it'd be Daniel's thing to be honest. Maybourne is back and has been up to some treasonous activities, he's not on screen for nearly long enough, more scenes with Jack and Maybourne please!

Eric has some theories about time loops. Silvana makes an observation about Stargate SG-1 and the West Wing.

Episode 73: Za'tarc-Itis (Divide And Conquer)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 5 "Divide and Conquer", and lament that they must watch yet another Anise/Freya episode. Thank goodness this is her last episode on the show; this poor actress was given such a bad character. Silvana and Tegan elaborate on how make-up is a no-win situation. Silvana really likes how this episode starts and ends, it's all the bits in between that the ladies do not like. There is a massive plot hole in this episode that involves pockets. They try to ship ALL the wrong people. They have updated their music library in Season 4! No more child's theme for lady friends! Yes, all wrong, Sophia. Martouf dying at the end is the worst part! And how limited Fraiser is by Anise/Freya each time the Tok'ra come to the base.

Episode 72: A Sunburn and Sand In Her Belly Button (Crossroads)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4 episode 4 "Crossroads." The Tok'ra are at it again, the Tok'ra train has totally derailed at this point, even Tegan can't deny it anymore. An old flame from Teal'c's past - Shan'auc - comes to the SGC with a truly unbelievable claim, that she has convinced her goa'uld symbiote to be a Tok'ra. Silvana and Tegan speculate on the status of Teal'c's marriage and question why no one on SG-1 brought any attention to the fact that Teal's is partnered as far as the audience knows. Teal'c is willing to leave the Tauri to help the Jaffa on Chulak, not to start the rebellion Silvana has proposed before, but to embark on a mission of brainwashing goa'uld symbiotes into being good, actually? How shocking that the symbiote (Tanith) was not reformed at all! The death of Shan'auc results since the Tok'ra did nothing to protect her from the very real possibility that Tanith had misled her and meant her harm! Do better, Tok'ra.

Episode 71: Let Them Eat Steak (Upgrades)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4 episode 3 "Upgrades" where their Tok'ra allies finally offer technology to give them an edge over the goa'uld, but with a notable cost. Both Silvana and Tegan are not big fans of Anise and the way Jack and Daniel act when she comes to the SGC. Anise brings technoology which accelerates everything about SG-1's (minus Teal'c) bodies and minds. She bulldozes Dr. Fraiser and Tegan has some issues with the methodology she uses in her human trial. Stargate really hits its stride here and the team dynamics really shine. Unfortunately, the hubris of human and Tok'ra-kind is really highlighted in this episode as well. Teal'c and Hammond are the stars of this episode. Did Anise know about the mission beforehand? And how did Apophis rise to power again?

Episode 70: Tau'ri Behaving Badly (The Other Side)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4 episode 2 "The Other Side" which is an apt title for this episode where SG1 get involved in a world war and end up committing a genocide against white supremacists. Jack, focused so heavily on shiny new technology, misses all the red flags despite Daniel's obvious concerns until their leader, Alar, is clearly racist aginst Teal'c, prompting Jack to finally allow Daniel to ask some more questions about what this war is really about. But not until after telling Daniel to shut up in front of their hosts. A pretty balanced episode in terms of each of the team members having something to do. However, some of Jack's "jokes" did not land for Silvana and Tegan. Listen to find out which scene is stamped into Silvana and Tegan's memory for all time. Also, finally the members of the military are actually shooting the enemies. More of Sam being involved in combat please! What do smut novels and fan fiction have in common with this Stargate episode? Also, Silvana has a suggestion on how Maybourne could use Alar on earth.

Episode 69: Dr. Carter's Consultation (Small Victories)
Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 1 "Small Victories". Stargate Command is visited by Thor asking for help in defeating the number one enemy of the Asgaard, the Replicators. Jack, Teal'c and Daniel are focused on defeating the Replicators that are on Earth from the previous episode while Sam goes off with Thor to save the Asgaard home world, since he needed someone dumber than him. What does this episode have to do with the Blair Witch Project? Why is Major Davis waiting for Daniel to give him orders? Why do men so rarely get redemption arcs?
